Dermal Fillers Singapore

Enhancing Your Natural Beauty with Dermal Fillers

What are Dermal Fillers?

Offering a safe, effective and minimally invasive solution for skin rejuvenation and facial contouring, dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines, soften creases, and enhance facial contours. Popular brands of dermal fillers in Singapore include: Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse and more.

Types of Dermal Fillers

In Singapore, dermal fillers are categorised primarily into two different types:

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers:

As the name suggests, these fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a natural component of the skin responsible for hydration and volume. Hyaluronic acid fillers provide near-immediate instant results and are suitable for anti-ageing and facial shaping treatments in Singapore.

Collagen-Stimulating Fillers:

Also known as bio-stimulating fillers, collagen-stimulating fillers use safe, synthetically produced compounds to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production, resulting in long-lasting volumisation. While the effects may take longer to manifest, collagen-stimulating fillers offer natural-looking results that endure over time.

Non-hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can be used for both facial shaping and anti-ageing treatments in Singapore.

Temporary vs Permanent Fillers:

Aside from differentiating dermal fillers based on the ingredients they are made of, dermal fillers can also be categorised based on their longevity.

Temporary Fillers:

Temporary fillers are the most common type of dermal fillers and are usually hyaluronic acid-based. Brands like Juvederm and Restylane fall into this category. Temporary fillers offer near-immediate results, typically lasting anywhere from 6 to 18 months, depending on factors such as the specific product used and the area treated. They are gradually absorbed by the body over time, requiring periodic touch-up treatments to maintain desired results.

Semi-Permanent Fillers:

Semi-permanent fillers contain ingredients that provide longer-lasting results compared to temporary fillers but are still eventually absorbed by the body. These fillers often consist of biodegradable materials such as calcium hydroxylapatite (e.g., Radiesse) or poly-L-lactic acid (e.g., Sculptra). While they can offer results lasting up to two years or more, they still require maintenance treatments to sustain the desired appearance over time.

Permanent Fillers:

Lastly, permanent fillers, as the name suggests, are designed to provide permanent results by using non-biodegradable substances that remain in the body indefinitely. While they offer long-lasting volume correction, the permanence of these fillers means that any undesirable outcomes or changes in aesthetic preferences cannot be as easily reversed as hyaluronic acid fillers.

Temporary fillers like Juvederm are most commonly used in aesthetic clinics as they offer a versatile and customisable solution for addressing various cosmetic concerns while allowing individuals to experiment with different looks and adjust their treatment plans over time as their aesthetic preferences evolve.

Anti-Ageing with Dermal Fillers:

As we age, our skin loses volume and elasticity, resulting in sagging and the formation of wrinkles. Dermal fillers replenish lost volume, lift sagging skin, and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, effectively reversing signs of ageing.

Facial Sculpting with Dermal Fillers:

Dermal fillers are versatile tools for facial contouring, allowing for the enhancement and definition of facial features. Whether it’s achieving a V-shaped face or refining specific areas such as the nose, cheeks, and jawline, fillers provide tailored solutions for sculpting and refining facial aesthetics.
